Country living in Saint-Lazare, at a price that's getting harder to find. A 1991 bungalow with room for a family, a fully fenced backyard with a big deck, and the upstairs windows, roof, and plumbing all replaced within the past two years.

A bright bungalow, ready to move into.

It's a sunny bungalow in central Saint-Lazare, close to everything but with privacy and quiet you'll love.

The main floor has two bedrooms and a full bathroom (the previous owner updated it in 2017). The living room sits beside the kitchen and dining area, all of it bright with natural light. It's a layout that works equally well for nights with the family and dinner parties with friends.

Downstairs adds a third bedroom, a full bath with laundry, space for two offices or hobby areas, a family room with a working wood stove, and all the storage you could ever need. Plenty of room to host guests, have space to get work done, or just disappear to with a book on a Sunday afternoon.

Out back: a private fenced yard with a big deck, mature trees, and enough sunshine to grow things. In the summer, enjoy fresh raspberries daily, picked from your patch by the fence.

Through the Year

Your home through the year.

— I —
Winter
Walk to Bedard Park to skate, play hockey, or head down the sledding hill. Come home to enjoy hot chocolate by a crackling fire in the wood stove.
— II —
Spring
Enjoy the sounds of nature as the world around you turns green and lush. Have your morning coffee in the sunny dinette or out on the deck to enjoy the crisp morning air.
— III —
Summer
Take to the nearby trails to enjoy the natural beauty of Saint-Lazare, head to the nearby splash pad to beat the heat with little ones, or enjoy a cool drink in the shade on a spacious deck in your backyard.
— IV —
Fall
Walk through the neighbourhood just for the autumn leaves, or make the short drive to Mt. Rigaud to enjoy autumn's beauty to the fullest. Everywhere you look, the world looks like a painting.
The Soundtrack

Four you'll come to know by ear.

Many birds visit the yard and the trees around the house, but here are four lovely regulars. Leave the windows open, and their songs can become a beautiful soundtrack for your day, everyday.

Male Northern Cardinal, bright red with black face mask, perched on a branch
Northern Cardinal
Cardinalis cardinalis
Year-round. "Cheer, cheer, cheer" — most insistent at dawn in late spring.
Male American Goldfinch in breeding plumage, bright yellow with black wings and cap
American Goldfinch
Spinus tristis
Summer regular. A bright little canary-yellow flash; a chittering, twittering call.
Blue Jay with bright blue plumage, white underside, and distinctive crest
Blue Jay
Cyanocitta cristata
Loud, opinionated, hard to miss. A sharp "jay-jay-jay" you'll learn fast.
Black-capped Chickadee, small bird with distinctive black cap and white cheeks
Black-capped Chickadee
Poecile atricapillus
Year-round, even in deep cold. "Chick-a-dee-dee-dee" and a clear two-note whistle.

The Area

Country quiet with the city still close.

You get the country lifestyle, but everything you actually need is a short drive away — shopping, schools, daycares, the community centre, the library, restaurants, the new Vaudreuil hospital, and quick access to the 40, 20, and 30. Bicycle paths nearby make a lot of the town accessible on two wheels.

Bedard Park

Five minutes' walk. Tennis, splash pad, baseball, beach volleyball, basketball, skate park, and a playground in summer. Sledding, a skating oval, and several hockey rinks in winter. And city events every month. It's the kind of park that has something for everyone, all through the year.

Place du Parc

Recently built and also just five minutes by foot, new walking paths along a quiet stream lead to a second park. A great new spot to bring little ones to play, to walk the dog, or just to take a stroll through a vibrant community.

Public transportation

Catch the 51 bus on the corner of Sainte-Angélique and des Marguerites — it takes you to the Vaudreuil train station and from there it's a direct ride downtown.

Schools & daycares

Elementary and high schools are a short bus ride or drive away — or a nice ride on the dedicated bike paths for older kids. Many daycares can be found within just a few minutes of the house, too.

Things to do outside

Cross-country skiing, horseback riding, tubing, walking trails, and Ski Mont Rigaud are all a short drive. Plenty for active families, plenty for slow weekends.

A quiet street

Lots of young families, lots of dog-walkers, the kind of block where people wave. The pharmacy, grocery, and dépanneur are a two-minute drive. Five to the highway. Ten to fifteen to Hudson or Vaudreuil.
